Apple representative says “A PC is no bargain when it doesn’t do what you want.” I would like to take this time to say, BURN. Wow, I am beginning to like this war between Macs and PCs, although I do not care whether or not anyone uses a Mac or a PC. The truth be told (whether fan boys like it or not) is no one really cares how great a Mac or PC is presented because people use computers for certain reasons and cost.

When it comes to to money, yeah sure, people will buy a PC or save more for a Mac. Given more money, any person, who uses the mushy stuff up there (that’s right point to your head), is likely to buy a powerful PC or a Mac (I am inclined towards powerful PCs). Many, if not most, people use a computer casually. There’s, let’s say, 10% of people in the high school I go to who actually do something creative on the computer, whether it is creating videos or creating art (I am practically the only programmer and the only one going to UIUC).

No matter what, I will stick with a PC (OS: Windows | Linux). Mac is a side order as my interest in Objective-C grows due to the iPod (honestly). I use Windows Vista/7/Xp || Fedora for everything. Windows having the largest amount of devl0pers and software is the part of the reason why I stick with Windows.

When it comes down to choosing between a Mac and a PC, the question is actually “What do you expect to do when you buy a computer?” If you expect to use the computer casually, I suggest a PC. If you expect to create media such as art, audio, or video, then I suggest a Mac. It is based on my experience.

Mac is becoming a little more known, but it will never overtake the lead Windows has or at least It will be long after most of Generation Y and X are dead before Mac is in lead. I say that it might never be in the lead, since companies like Google want to phase out operating systems in favor of a browser OS, so they say.

I must add anyone expecting a Microsoft-free experience is close minded, and will never happen. Microsoft has made contributions and is still making contributions to various projects. Mac OS X has some Microsoft products such as Word. If I am wrong, I am ready to admit that, but it is unlikely. Also for this is for Mac fan boys.

Anyways, nice response to Microsoft’s ad campaign. I want to see Microsoft’s next ad. Something to think about: Doesn’t the PC market continue to exist because of the many hardware makers? If so, do you think Apple will ever have such a market? Lastly, if Apple ever has a market akin to the PC market, will Mac be as buggy as Windows when you install incompatible or conflicting device drivers?
